Hippocampal Sclerosis. Incidental finding
Figure 24. Routine  follow-up brain MRI (axial FLAIR sequence) obtained in a patient with multiple sclerosis, showing typical periventricular demyelinating lesions. A coronal fast-SE T2W MR image showed unexpected right hippocampal sclerosis. A detailed clinical anamnesis and further clinical investigation confirmed the presence of an undiagnosed seizure disorder.
•HS may be detected by chance in brain MR studies obtained in nonepileptic patients           .
•    Although the prevalence of HS in the general nonepileptic patient population is uncertain, it seems to be infrequent, and should prompt further clinical investigation to exclude a seizure disorder.
