(B) Coronal CT angiography reconstruction image confirms absent filling of the vessel (arrow). (C) MR and CT perfusion imaging reveal a corresponding, matched blood flow / blood volume defect (arrows) in the left occipital lobe (top row MR, bottom row CT). The improved spatial resolution of CT provides increased conspicuity of the ischemic territory on the perfusion maps, which is of benefit for perfusion imaging in the posterior fossa. A patient with this matched imaging finding would not typically be a candidate for thrombolysis, because there is no imaging evidence of potential salvageable tissue.
