Figure 2: Level I Lymph Nodes

A. Coronal anatomic image shows mylohyoid muscle (arrows) that forms the superior margin of the Level I lymph nodes.

B. Axial images show the inferior margin of the Level I lymph nodes that are formed by the hyoid bone.

C. The posterior margin of the Level I nodes is formed by white line connecting the posterior margin of the submandibular glands. Level IA lymph nodes are located between the mylohyoid muscles (arrowheads = mylohyoid muscle, small arrow = location of Level IA nodes). The Level IB nodes are located lateral to the mylohyoid muscles (large white arrows).
